The Human RightS Initiative (HRSI) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for a one–day intensive workshop on Fundraising at CEU on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 9 AM – 5 PM.
This workshop aims to provide participants with practical skills needed to work in the non-profit sector. The workshop is recommended to those who have no or relatively little experience in fundraising.
Goals of the training
• Introducing a wide palette of available fundraising techniques.
• Offering the possibility to find the best matches for their own organizations.
• Getting aware of key internal processes and requirements for successful fundraising campaigns and fundraising in general.
• Getting participants acquainted with effective donor cultivation strategies.
• Identifying the basic elements of good relationships with donors (special focus on corporate), and qualified prospects.
• Discussing the application of appropriate acknowledgement, acceptance, and recognition policies and practices.

In the recent years, many new forms of funding have emerged, from community funding through experience and challenge-based donations to social responsibility-based corporate programs. The one-day workshop will not only make you acquainted with the general schemes of resource building, but you can explore the driving forces of new types of fundraising techniques through examining national and international campaigns.
The trainer will not only provide insights into the communication aspects of campaigns, but also provide the necessary administrative and background processes, transparency and ethical view points, as well as share cutting edge ideas for campaigns and give hints on how to build long term relations with companies.
The trainer delivering the workshop is Kiry Noémi Ambrus
Kiry Noémi Ambrus is an independent consultant working for many years on improving efficiency of non-profit organizations by providing them innovative and integrated organisational development solutions. With her almost 20 years of experience in working with non-profit organizations in Hungary and CEE, she loves sharing her knowledge and inspiring others. She is a visiting lecturer at the Pentecostal Theological College, teaching Management of Volunteer Organisations.
The main stages of her career are: she started as a trainer and East European coordinator of the Olde Vechte Foundation in Ommen, The Netherlands, with involvement in personal development, coaching and leadership trainings. For seven years she was the senior trainer and consultant of the Civil Society Development Foundation Hungary doing capacity building, training and consultancy for non-profit organizations across the globe. She also worked for the Mental Disability Advocacy Center as Operations Director and later Fundraising Development Manager. Her last position was at Civil Support Nonprofit Ltd. Hungary being the lead trainer and senior consultant of the company.
She has a teacher's degree from the Lutheran Theological University Budapest and MA in EU politics from the University Of Pécs, Faculty of Law. 2 years ago she finished her coaching and management studies at the Pentecostal Theological College, Budapest.
Eligibility
CEU students, junior staff, CEU alumni, staff from Budapest–based NGOs, students from other universities, etc.
The workshop is free of charge for all applicants and all participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Application Process
Applicants should fill in the Online Application Form before the deadline.
The selection will be based on the application forms and the selected applicants will be notified via e–mail a few days after the deadline.
