Random-like behavior in deterministic models of Statistical Physics

Abstract:

Time evolution of large, complicated systems in Statistical Physics is 
best described by probabilistic models. However, these models don't 
"explain" the physical phenomena in the sense that they are seemingly in 
contradiction with the fully deterministic laws of Physics that work so 
well in describing microscopic motion.

The science of Dynamical Systems in Mathematical Statistical Physics tries 
to bridge that gap. In the talk I will present a few simple models where 
random behavior of an actually deterministic system can be shown in a 
strict mathematical sense.
