Rights Writers Workshop

Monday, August 28, 2017, 10:00 am – Friday, September 1, 2017, 8:00 pm

The workshop will bring together four poets from Bahrain, India, Hungary, and Nigeria, to produce a joint work of poetry as well as individual pieces, about human rights. The working process, as well as the poems performed by the four poets, will be video recorded. The participants of the workshop:

Maryam al-Khawaja, Rafto Laurate, poet, co-director of the Gulf Center for Human Rights

Nnimmo Bassey, Rafto Laureate, architect, environmentalist activist, author and poet, director of the Health of Mother Earth Foundation,

Peter Molnar, Rafto Laureate, Research Affiliate on Freedom of Speech, CEU, CENS, Former Member of the Hungarian Parliament 1990-1998, writer, participatory theater director, slammer, voluntary radio host and activist

Salil Tripathi, Writer - Journalist - Human Rights Busybody // Chair: Writers in Prison Committee, PEN International
