You are cordially invited to the screening
of Catrine Clay's (documentary)
Children of the Third Reich
Venue: the Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archive's Research Room
1051 Budapest, Arany János utca 32.
Time: 12 September 2017, 5PM
In April, a group of 18 people met in a small town halfway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Some were Jewish, the sons and daughters of Holocaust survivors; the rest were German,
the children of Nazi war criminals. Producer Catrine Clay interviewed the participants as they faced up to a hitherto unspeakable shared history.
After the screening there will be a discussion with Dr. Samson Munn, one of the participants of the film (in English with Hungarian translation).
The son of Holocaust survivors, Samson Munn, president of the medical staff and associate radiologist in chief at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, is especially active in establishing ongoing dialogues between the children of perpetrators and victims of the Holocaust and genocide. He founded, facilitates, and participates in The Austrian Encounter, a non-profit therapeutic group established in 1995 to counter racism and stem
genocide by exploring and discussing the participants’ family histories. He is also active in To Reflect and Trust, a similar group of sons and daughters of survivors from other historic conflicts.
The event is jointly organized by ELTE and Living Memorial.
