University Life
Monday, March 26, 2018, 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

In collaboration with CEU’s Center for Arts and Culture, Human RightS Initiative is pleased to invite you to the talk and exhibition by Pakistani artist, illustrator, and author of children books, Fauzia Minallah. She is a peace activist and her art compliments her activism. In her art, she investigates the issues of identity and challenges stereotyping and otherness. Through her work, she celebrates the millennium rich multicultural heritage of Pakistan. In a world where borders are tighter and walls higher, she uses art as a tool to build bridges across cultures and nationalities.
"Amai's Mural of Love" is a multicolored scarf of peace. Amai is a cartoon character that Fauzia has developed for children, through which she promotes the concepts of love, tolerance, peace, human rights and environment protection. It was especially made for children but has been lately exhibited in many European cities, such as Munich and Rome. Join us on Monday, March 26th, to hear about how Fauzia combines art and activism, and how she created this unique piece of work.
