Encore screenings of popular films from Verzió 15

Knowing that more and more of you are watching documentaries in the cinema makes us very proud; of the 105 screenings at Verzió 15, nearly half were sold out! This really is one of the most promising imprints of 2018.

Thanks to your growing interest, we are even more enthusiastic about our annual encore screening series, Re-Verzió, which has been typically held in the last cold weeks of winter – supplying the perfect atmosphere for watching movies and gathering in warm places.
This year our venue is the Blinken OSA Archive, home to Verzió's 8000+ documentary film library, as well as Radio Free Europe materials and many other intriguing fonds.

SRBENKA – The imprint of war on young Serbian and Croatian people today.
Winner of the Best Human Rights Film Award at the 15th Verzió.
The screening will be followed by a Skype Q&A director Nebojša Slijepčević. Our moderator is Szabolcs Szirony (KineDok, Verzió).

THE SILENCE OF OTHERS – Shot over 6 years, this documentary shows how human rights lawyers and survivors are still trying to achieve justice for the victims of Franco's dictatorship, 50 years later.

February 21, 6pm
LIBERATION DAY – Laibach will perform on the A38 concert boat on February 22. Get ready for the concert by watching the documentary shot in preparation for their groundbreaking North Korean tour, which inspired their latest album.
The film was the Closing Film of Verzió 15.

WELCOME TO SODOM – Where do our used phones end up? What kind of lives emerge from our electronic waste?
After the screening, Logan Strenchock, CEU's Sustainability Officer, will ask our guests, Gergely Simon from Greenpeace Hungary and Ervin Tihanyi, head of electronic waste handling at Intermetal Recycling, about their experiences during their visit to Sodom.

March 21, 6pm
THE TIME OF FORESTS – Let's celebrate the beginning of astronomical spring together! We are looking forward to seeing nature blossom, but as the film shows, it is important to pay attention to how our forests grow.
Winner of the Audience Award at the 15th Verzió.

A discussion with Logan Strenchock, CEU's Sustainability Officer and his guests about "Community Agroforestry Projects and their potential in Budapest" will follow the screening.
Our hand-printed canvas bags will be back in stock, after selling out on the second day of Verzió 15, and available at screenings thanks to our wonderful volunteers!
