March 31 is the International Transgender Day of Visibility. It is dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide, as well as a celebration of their contributions to society.

HRSI is happy to screen the Indian National Award (special jury) winning film Chitrangada. The discussion will be guided by orchi. The speakers are CEU students Viktorija Ćurlin, MA Critical Gender Studies, Nora Noralla, MA Human Rights (Legal Studies Dept.) and Zephyr, CEU staff, who will discuss the film, and then about their own context, widening the discussion about the different ways and contexts that trans* people exist in society.

Chitraganda: The Crowning Wish, is a lusciously lit and deeply personal drama about a choreographer considering a gender-reassignment surgery. The film also explores insights into how gender expression can affect families.
