Founded in 1999, Frontier Economics is now one of the largest economic consultancies in Europe with offices in London, Dublin, Berlin, Cologne, Brussels, Madrid, and Paris. Owned entirely by its staff, Frontier attracts public and private sector clients for advice on matters of competition policy, public policy, regulation, business strategy, and behavioral economics.

CEU's Career Services Office will host an info session with a short presentation and a Q&A with an Economic Consultant and a CEU alumna currently working for Frontier as an Analyst.

Frontier Economics requires applicants to have an academic or professional background with a strong economics component (strong MA and/or BA).

During this session you will learn more about:

  • What it's like to work for Frontier Economics
  • What it means to work in economic consulting
  • The experience of a CEU alumna currently working for Frontier
  • 2022 Internships and Graduate Analyst roles

To give you a sense of the type of work Frontier Economics does, here are some example questions from their clients:

  • From an energy regulator: How can we introduce more competition in the retail energy market?
  • From a low cost airline: Is it a problem for customers that our prices are so much higher on bank holidays than on other days?
  • From a fast food company: How can we become more innovative?
  • From a national health authority: How much money did we lose as a result of illegal behavior of a pharmaceutical company?
  • From a government body: What was the effect of increasing minimum wage for apprentices?
  • From an international retailer: At what point should we stop building physical stores?

Jacek Stachowski is a consultant in the competition practice at Frontier’s London office. Jacek earned a BA in Economics & Management at the University of St Andrews and an MSc in Economic Policy at UCL. Before joining Frontier he worked as a competition economist at RBB Economics and KPMG.

Sumaiya Rahman joined Frontier in 2019 as an Analyst in the London headquarters. She is currently working on the competition practice after completing short stints in the telecommunications, energy and strategy practices. She has been involved in writing bulletins – smarter impact assessments or covid-19 impact on UK electricity system - and in improving diversity and inclusion at the company. She completed an MA in Economics from CEU and a PhD in Economics at the University Of Surrey.

The roles presented during employer events in this series will be primarily for graduate students. Future career programming will also include employer events geared towards undergraduate students.

This event will be held via Zoom. Please register in advance to receive the event link.
