Opening Up the University: Book Launch in Vienna

Book Launch
Opening by Donya Golnasi
Friday, April 29, 2022, 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

This launch complements the workshop earlier in the day:

The book and the launch focuses on university access for students who have experienced displacement, what the responses of universities to displaced learners can teach us about the boundaries of academic institutions, and how struggles over access for these students may lead to new openings. The question of access to higher education for displaced individuals is placed in a wider context: We need to understand access as part of a wider drive towards equity, which entails meaningful inclusion, representation and participation in classrooms, at decision-making levels within institutions and society at large.

The event will be chaired by Adriana Qubaiova.
