The role of kinship networks in generating collective action

by Tamas David-Barrett (University of Oxford)

David has a PhD in Economics and as a Fellow of the Trinity College he has worked with Robin Dunbar on evolutionary anthropology. His research applies data analysis and modelling using the concept of behavioural synchrony to explain the emergence of sociality and to examine how bonding in social networks facilitate shared intentionality and collective action within the group. His approach raises new questions such as how natural structures in social networks emerge, how group identity may form and how demographic transition affects the onset of modernity.
