International Day of Peace

Arts & Entertainment
Wednesday, September 21, 2016, 12:00 pm – Thursday, September 22, 2016, 7:00 pm

September 21, 2016 is the International Day of Peace. First observed by the United Nations in 1981, the day is dedicated to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples.

In celebration of this day, HRSI invites all of you to visit our INFO TABLE in the Laptop Area (Nador 9) between 12-2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21. In addition to finding out more about Peace Day, you will also have the chance to share what you will do to build peace within yourself and around you.

We are also pleased to invite you to the screening of “HUMAN” (2015), a film by Yann Arthus-Bertrand (1h 26 min).

Human is a three-volume documentary, a collection of stories and images of our world, offering an immersion to the core of what it means to be human. Human was produced over the course of three years and it contains a rich montage of over 2,000 stories. It was the first movie to premiere in the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations, to an audience of 1,000 viewers.

Join us to watch the second volume of the movie with the themes of war, forgiving, homosexuality, family, life and death in Popper room (Nador 9 Monument Building), on Thursday, September 22, at 5.30 p.m.
