The Atlas Corps Overseas Fellowship Program: Career/Recruitment Event

Wednesday, November 30, 2016, 7:15 pm – 8:30 pm

Students and alumni from all CEU programs are invited to attend an information session about the Atlas Corps Overseas Fellowship Program. Atlas Service Corps, Inc. (Atlas Corps), started in 2006, is an international network of civil society leaders and organizations that promotes innovation, cooperation, and solutions to address the world's 21st century challenges. Atlas Corps aims to address critical social issues by developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and promoting innovation through an overseas fellowship of skilled social sector professionals. Profiled as a "best practice" in international exchange by the Brookings Institution and featured in the Washington Post as a model social entrepreneurship program, Atlas Corps engages leaders committed to social change in 12 to 18 month, professional fellowships at organizations to learn best practices, build organizational capacity, and return home to create a network of global changemakers. Recently, Atlas Corps launched the Emerging Global Leaders Initiative, "a long-term investment in the strengthening of the global civil society sector" via a partnership with the U.S. State Department as part of a White House Initiative to engage 100 civil society leaders in the Fellowship. Alumni of CEU's International Relations department and the School of Public Policy have served in the past as Atlas Corps fellows.

Meredith Newmark, Program Director at Atlas Corps, will connect via videoconference with the CEU audience. Two current CEU students who previously took part in the Atlas Corps Fellowship program will also be present to share their own experiences. This is a virtual career session. Ms. Newmark will connect to the CEU community via video link from Washington, DC.

There will be ample time for questions from the audience.
