Foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Moldova

Andrei Galbur is a Moldovan career diplomat who currently serves as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (since 20 January 2016) in Pavel Filip Cabinet of the Republic of Moldova. Previously A. Galbur served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (2015–2016), and Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Russia (2013–2015).

The main objectives of foreign policy of the Republic of Moldova aims at ensure favourable conditions for the implementation of the national interests of Republic of Moldova externally: European  integration, strengthening the cooperation with international and regional organisations, promoting economic interests, ensuring a favourable external environment and the international support necessary to carry out the economic, social and political reforms. Further, it is of utmost importance settlement of the conflict in Transnistria, in cooperation with foreign strategic partners, protection of the interests of Moldovan citizens abroad, and building up of a positive image of the Republic of Moldova on the international arena. Amongst the most valuable achievements of the Moldovan diplomacy in the area of European Integration is the implementation of the Association Agreement EU-Moldova, and the deepening of the bilateral dialogue with the EU within the European Neighbourhood Policy. Stability, predictability and consistency of the Moldovan foreign policy serve as preconditions for Moldova’s becoming a democratic European state, with an advanced economy and a high level of security.
