An award-winning teacher and scholar, Professor Petra Aczél will discuss teaching innovations in courses on political rhetoric, new media communication, and related topics in which her students use digital technology, make films, write blogs, and work on real-life cases. Dr. Aczél earned her MA and PhD degrees at Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences. Recipient of numerous honors, she was most recently awarded the Kenneth Rice Prize for Teaching Excellence. She is a University Professor and Director of the Institute of Behavioural Sciences and Communication Theory at Corvinus University of Budapest.

A distinguished scholar of German Literature, Maurizio Pirro has been recognized for pioneering interactive teaching, similar to the German seminar model, in his work at University of Bari (a pedagogical approach still largely unknown in Italy). Professor Pirro will share insights, challenges, and questions about this process. Professor Pirro received his MA from Bari University and his PhD in German language and literature from Pavia University. He also studied for seven years in Heidelberg, Germany.
