Tackling anti-Muslim sentiment

The workshop aims to provide participants with theoretical and mostly practical tools for them to:
- Become knowledgeable on the origins and nature of anti-Muslim sentiment, and how it manifests itself in different environments.
- Break misconceptions, and myths about Islam. We are all prone to prejudice!
- Be able to recognize examples of religious oppression in everyday interpersonal interaction, and how to counter them.
- Avoid microagressions, and know how to better respond to them when they occur. Most of them are unintentional and due to lack of awareness of our underlying biases.
- Engage in more mindful and meaningful interactions.
- Discuss ways of taking action against religious discrimination collaboratively.
Everybody is welcome to participate! We want to make this workshop a polyphony of voices. We want to listen to your experiences.

This is the first of a series of workshops called Interaction Matters. This initiative aims to raise awareness on pressing and current issues that are still present in our global communities, such as racial bias, religious prejudice, sexism, ageism, and ableism, amongst other important themes. The workshops aim to provide participants with practical tools to be able to effectively contribute to building more positive, respectful relationships among themselves and with the wider society.
