'STRATAGEM' simulation workshop on Sustainability

The CEU Campus
Thursday, November 15, 2018, 9:00 am – 6:30 pm

STRATAGEM
A personal computer-based management training game on energy-environment interactions

STRATAGEM has been developed by Dennis Meadows, a co-author of Limits to Growth*, who is a regular visitor to Hungary as a founding member of the Balaton Group.

The game simulates decision-making in a hypothetical ‘country’ about energy and the environment in the broader context of other variables we generally associate with the notion of sustainability such as population, consumption and production, trade, environmental quality and so on.

The simulation will be led by Bela Kuslits from Blumental & Frank (and also Balaton Group) a small Budapest-based consulting outfit specialized in ‘serious games’ for a wide range of clients. They developed a web-based interface for STRATEGEM.

Participation by invitation only.

*The Limits to Growth (LTG) is a 1972 report on the computer simulation of exponential economic and population growth with a finite supply of resources. Since its publication, some 30 million copies of the book in 30 languages have been purchased. Most recently, The Limits to Growth: The 30-Year Update was published on June 1, 2004.
