Classical Beats - Bergman's Music: Masks

Concert
Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Classical Beats

Classical Beats is the new music and art series of the CEU CAC. It combines classical music with other forms of art. This spring we will explore the encounters of classical music and film, photography and fairy tales.

Bergman's Music: Masks

This project aims to create a unique atmosphere by revealing the strong connection between Ingmar Bergman's cinematographic scenes and classical music. We would like to show how complexly he stayed linked to classical music not, only at a personal – emotional – but also at a professional level.
The series is divided into three concerts according to three topics – Masks, Breakpoints, Completeness – highlighting different development stages of the characters.
The concert “Masks” presents pieces from scenes where the protagonists tend to hide their inner selves and are unable to build connection to others.
