The European Heritage Days are a widely celebrated cultural event shared by the citizens of Europe, when numerous monuments and sites open their doors for the public, allowing them to enjoy free visits and learn about their shared cultural heritage. This is the sixth time that CEU welcomes visitors and shares the heritage value and history of its buildings both for the broader public and for members of its own community. The guides are students, alumni, and faculty members of the Cultural Heritage Studies Program at CEU.
Az Európai Kulturális Örökségnapok egy széles körben, Európa polgárai által közösen ünnepelt kulturális esemény, amely során számos épített örökség és örökségvédelmi terület nyitja meg kapuját a nyilvánosság előtt – lehetővé téve így a szabad épületlátogatást és közös kulturális örökségük jobb megismerését. Ez a hetedik alkalom, hogy a CEU látogatókat fogad és épületei kulturális értékét mind a széles közönség, mind saját közösségének tagjaival megosztja. A sétavezetők önkéntesek, vagy a diákok, öregdiákok és az Egyetem Kulturális Örökség Tanulmányok tanszékének tanársága köreiből jönnek.

For many inhabitants of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc, the Soviet era was a traumatic experience that is best forgotten. However, the period also left a unique architectural legacy across the region, which has lately been attracting more and more attention. For some, the late Soviet buildings are strange, ungracefully aging, politically charged monsters that should urgently disappear from the urban landscape; for others they are cultural heritage worth preserving. The exhibition aims to address and contextualize the historical, political, social, architectural and economic value of the Soviet built legacy based on examples from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Georgia. The posters were prepared by students of the Cultural Heritage Studies Program coming from these countries.
