Yenching Academy of Peking University Presentation, Peter Boros (INTR ’18, Hungary)

Yenching Academy is a fully funded interdisciplinary master’s degree aimed at providing a 360-degree understanding of contemporary China and fostering exchange between Chinese and international students of the country. The program involves coursework in six disciplines: Economics, History, Law, Literature, Philosophy and Politics, and International Relations. It also includes study trips and funding to pursue individual research trips around the country. Additionally, and like CEU, Yenching Academy brings together students from all over the world, each offering different perspectives on China. The result, according to CEU alum and session presenter Peter Boros, is “a fun and inspiring environment where it is great to be.” For more details, check out the Yenching Academy website: https://yenchingacademy.pku.edu.cn/.

Peter Boros received an MA in International Relations in 2018. He holds a previous degree in Chinese and Religious Studies from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) and has worked as a Chinese interpreter for numerous Hungarian companies. Peter is currently pursuing a second master’s degree at the Yenching Academy of Peking University in Beijing, P.R.C.

Peter will share his experience at Yenching Academy with current CEU students in order to spread the word about this opportunity to pursue further studies which might appeal to anyone interested in learning more about China. In Peter’s words, “if you are even a little bit interested in China, whether you are an “old China hand” or never studied the country before, check out this cool opportunity!”

RSVP is strongly recommended as it helps us know how many participants to expect.

For students currently based in Vienna: you may join remotely from room D-212. When registering for the event, please indicate your campus location.
