ABSTRACT / Kin detection served as a mechanism in the process of evolution of cooperation in humans that is characterized by complex social structures and repeated interactions. The evolution of kin availability is determined mainly by demographic transition. With the use of anonymized mobile call data, this study will use kin identification and social network analysis to quantify the network effects of fertility rate and urbanization on society structure. As Chile has both matrilineal and patrilineal kinship systems, parenthood lines can be traced with the use of (anonymized) last names.
