The Career Services Office is pleased to host this panel discussion about working in International Organizations. You will hear from CEU alumni who work in a variety of organizations in a range of roles. Our speakers will share information about their own career paths and provide advice for CEU students interested in this career area.

Speaker Bios

Anna Bara (HIST ’03) currently works as a Senior Project Officer at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). Her career path spans the intersection between research and policy work, and she has worked at institutions including the European University Institute, the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, the University of Kent, the Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, and the European Commission, among others.  Anna is the head of CEU’s alumni chapter in Austria.

Angel Bombarda (SPP ’18) is currently working as a Communications Consultant with the World Bank in Washington, DC. Her previous career experience includes a role as an HR Marketing Officer with the International Committee of the Red Cross covering Southeast Asia and the Pacific and roles in the public and development sectors in the Philippines. She formerly worked at the Office of the Secretary at the Department (Ministry) of Budget and Management and helped build from the ground up a good governance startup focused on frontline government service delivery.

Barbora Petrova (SPP ’16) currently works for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as an FAO Governing Bodies Consultant. Barbora has worked for FAO since graduating from CEU, starting as a Project Management Coordinator in FAO’s Budapest Shared Service Center and moving on to roles at FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy. Outside of work, Barbora is a yoga enthusiast and plant lover.

This event is part of Careers in International Organizations Week, organized by the Career Services Office in February 2020. We also invite you to register for the World Bank Employer Presentation on Thursday, February 20 (12:45-13:30) and the International Organizations Recruitment Boot Camp (by OSCE) on Friday, February 21 (13:00-17:00).
