The Community Engagement Office in collaboration with the Dean of Students Office, Alumni Relations Office, and Communications Office invites all students, staff, faculty, and alumni to take part in the CEU-wide creative contest as a response to COVID-19, dedicated to the topic of “Reflections of life in a pandemic and beyond”. This contest is part of the CEUInspired campaign.

COVID-19 has upended all our lives and shattered the idea of being independent from the capricious events of the world. Globally we have seen an unprecedented shutdown and standstill of a certain kind of life we were accustomed to. It has reshaped society, changed language, transformed travel and surveillance, highlighted faults in policies, and redefined our way of working. While this has presented complex challenges across the world it has also created an opportunity for reflection on what is most important to us, the role of cooperation in a society, community resilience, and envisioning an alternative future for the world. It has introduced us to the virtues of virtual space and use of technology to create new forms of activism in the shape of solidarity initiatives to help those affected.

Tell us did the pandemic play to your strengths or expose your weaknesses? What do you hope for life after this catastrophe? What is the good, if any, within these bad days? What are the things you wish the world knew or understood better about life in a pandemic? Tell us about the people, art, music, events that have inspired you during this pandemic to be better and do better.
