Information Session: Advanced Certificate in Visual Theory and Practice

Info session
Thursday, September 24, 2020, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

This information session is organized for new and continuing students interested in taking the Advanced Certificate in Visual Theory and Practice in the 2020-2021 academic year.

The Advanced Certificate Program in Visual Theory and Practice (VTP) offers students the core knowledge and the skills to pursue visual research and produce media and visual work related to their own fields of study. Developed and coordinated by the VTP executive committee, it is a cross-disciplinary program for MA and PhD students that provides courses on the theory and practice of working with visual imagery as well as one-on-one supervision on a thesis that centers on the analysis of visual material or the production of a visual work. Additional activities include seminar courses, public lectures, conferences, workshops, and public programs organized by faculty, invited guests and artists in residence. Through such activities, students will become familiar with, and engage in, interdisciplinary dialogues on visual imagery across various fields of study.

Founded in 2014, the Visual Studies Platform (VSP) is a cross-disciplinary initiative designed to explore and propose innovative approaches to research and teaching visual imagery in the digital century.

We invite you to learn more about the certificate program by joining us either in-person in the D-001 Tiered (Vienna campus) or online by following this link or click on Livestream on the right.
