Join the Career Services Office for a panel discussion focused on a range of career paths and professional experiences in the field of sustainability. The panelists will share their experiences and advice gained through roles in government, private sector and non-profit, where they have worked with diverse topics such as climate change through systems innovation, circular economy, carbon accounting assessments, municipal water and energy management, and sustainable economic development.

Luise Fischer currently functions as a Cities Advisor in EIT Climate KIC’s (CKIC) Cities Team. Her work primarily focuses on systems innovation for climate action, working with Vienna and Milano. Prior to CKIC, Luise was with Tetra Tech, a large American engineering consultancy for four years. While being based in London she worked on multiple DFID funded programmes focused on sustainable economic development in Africa and Asia. She also functioned as Programme Manager on the £60m Sustainable Urban Economic Development Programme, which meant moving to Nairobi for 1,5 years. Prior to Tetra Tech, she worked for the European Forum Alpbach in Austria. Luise holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree focused on the environment and sustainable development from The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty for the Built Environment.

Isaac Guzman Estrada (ENVS '15)  currently works at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations as a Climate Change Mitigation Analyst. The main role is to perform carbon accounting assessments in the agriculture, forestry and other land use sector (AFOLU) with the use of the Ex-Ante Carbon-balance Tool (EX-ACT). Previously, he worked as a project manager in Mexico's City Ministry of Environment where he was in charge of the local Environmental Management System for the energy and water chapters. Isaac is an alumnus of CEU's Msc in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management (MESPOM) program. 

Caroline Heinz  (ENVS '18) currently works as a Senior Consultant at Sofies, a consultancy specialised in the circular economy space, where she is leading a number of projects focusing on extended producer responsibility, zero waste and other sustainability topics. She previously worked in a number of roles in the public affairs sector and for the European Parliament. Caroline is an alumna of CEU's Msc in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management (MESPOM) program. 

This event will be held via Zoom and is intended for all CEU students and alumni interested in learning more about careers in sustainability.  Participants must register in advance in order to receive the link to join the event.
