Political Risk analysis and forecasting involves gathering and synthesizing information on a region or country, determining the causes and sources of potential risks (usually in relation to investments), and then reporting the findings and making recommendations. Political risk analysts / consultants usually possess excellent research and analytical skills, strong communication and writing, and often  regional and/or country-specific expertise. 

CEU's Career Services Office will host an event with Dr. Otilia Dhand, Managing Director at Teneo in Brussels, in order for students and alumni to learn about the field of Political Risk Management.

During this event you will learn:

  • What a political risk analyst does;
  • What skills and competencies are sought after in this field;
  • Where to look for opportunities and how to break into the field. 

Speaker:

Dr. Otilia Dhand has a background in political risk and geopolitics, and is a Managing Director with Teneo in Brussels.  Her current role focuses on high-level strategic advice for clients across business sectors, including on taxation, digital economy, and artificial intelligence. Prior to being a Managing Director, her work centered around political risk forecasting in Central and Eastern Europe while with organizations such as Teneo, Eurasia Group, and the Economist Intelligence Unit. Otilia holds a Ph.D. in the geopolitics of Central Europe from King’s College, London, a master’s degree in Russian and East European Studies from St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford, and an MBA from Vlerick Business School in Brussels. 


This event is intended for all CEU students and alumni interested in learning more about a career in political risk.
