Young Musicians Concert Series - Jazzation: Circlesongs

Concert
Jazzation
Wednesday, February 23, 2022, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Jazzation: Circlesongs is an interactive acapella concert where we involve the audience with the help of improvisation games and techniques.

Jazzation – five-time international competition winner – is warmly inviting both lovers of acapella and those who are only getting to know the genre to the world of circle songs made famous by Bobby McFerrin. Those who feel like it, can only listen and enjoy, those who are brave and daring can, with the guidance of professionals, even try experience-based polyphony.

Jazzation consists of five unique musicians. Internationally specialized bass singer Máté Homor is originally specialized in sacral music, while Attila Fábián has a background in world-renowned Hungarian choral singing. Katus Várallyay brings the world music theme to the group, Sára Bolyki pairs jazz singing with folk music mastery, and Gina Kanizsa is both jazz singer and vocal coach.

Marcell Dénes-Worowski and Dénes Seidl are the founders of ZeneMűvek edutainment project. With this initiative their aim is to give a new narrative to the relationship between young audience and classical music. The aim of their performances is to provide a direct tool for the audience so that their concert experience and listening to music in general becomes deeper and more complex. In the framework of Central European University’s Young Musicians Concert Series they are going to show chamber music formations that are on one hand significant ensembles of the Hungarian classical music scene, on the other which make it possible to discover important segments of music literature (string quartet, acapella singing, Baroque musical forms, etc.)
