Mediation analysis is a technique that examines the intermediate process by which one or multiple independent variables affect the dependent variable. This tutorial will explain what a mediation analysis is, check the necessary statistical and conceptual assumptions, run the necessary statistical procedures, and present your results for publication. Basic background knowledge in statistics (descriptive statistics, null-hypothesis testing, and regression analysis) is required. Very basic knowledge of R is required. At least know how to open a dataset and run descriptives and basic linear regression.
