Entrepreneurship Avenue meets CEU iLab in Vienna!
The Mentor Team from Central European University’s startup accelerator, CEU InnovationsLab will walk you through the wonderland of customer interviews! So why are customer interviews magic? Because if you can pay appropriate attention, you can just lean back and let your customers tell you what they need!
The workshop session will consist of three parts:

First, we will talk you through some practical advice related to interviews.

Then, with the help of mentors, you will create your interview scripts with to-the-point questions.

Finally, you will be matched with peer teams, and you will take turns, and both conduct your first customer interviews!
Afterward, you will have the chance to get to know real-life best practices and experiences on customers’ and founders’ journeys from players in the Austrian startup ecosystem.

18:00 – 18:20: Introduction
Speakers: Andrea Kozma (Director of CEU iLab), Joel Hainzl (Entrepreneurship Avenue)
18:20 – 18:40: Customer Interview
How to initiate conversations with potential customers? What are good open/ended and probing questions? How to identify trends across interviews and develop actionable insights? Andrea Kozma will talk about the basics of customer interviews and how to do them well, and also give you a guide on what to do with the information you have learned from the interviews.
18:40 – 19:20: Roleplay
Try it out! A safe, yet tangible way to practice interviewing customers before going out into the field. In this part, you will have the chance to practice interviewing potential customers, build insights based on that, and create business opportunities that meet customers’ needs.
Instead of jumping into business ideas, you can practice how to first understand what customers really want.
19:20 – 19:40: Group discussion
Review of lessons learned and how to start in real life.
19:40 – 20:00: Panel discussion ‘Founders, customers, and other heroes of the Austrian startup ecosystem’
