The EU Delegation to the International Organisations in Vienna represents the EU at the United Nations Organisations, related bodies and specialised agencies established in Vienna, as well as at the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).  As part of the European External Action Service, the delegation coordinates EU positions and cooperates with EU Member States to promote EU policies in the international organisations and represents the EU in political dialogue meetings and in major conferences.

Join us for an employer presentation with the EU Delegation to the International Organisations in Vienna, with representation from the Press Attaché - Communication & Public Information Officer and two current trainees.

During this session you will learn more about: 

  • The work of the EU Delegation to the International Organisations in Vienna;
  • Traineeships to start in Autumn 2022 with the EU Delegation to the International Organisations in Vienna (eligibility: EU citizens)
  • Traineeship opportunities with the European External Action Service globally (eligibility: EU citizens and citizens of host country)

There will be time for Q&A at the end of the presentation, so come prepared with questions!


Speakers: 

Alain Georges Matton is a Press Attaché - Communication & Public Information Officer at the EU Delegation to the International Organisations in Vienna.  With over 10 years of experience working for the EEAS (European External Action Service), and 17 prior years working for EU institutions, Alain has become a specialist in press, communication, public and cultural diplomacy, and is responsible for bridging the communication between the EU Delegation and the public. Alain Matton now plays a role in enhancing the EU’s visibility, while communicating on the EU’s political dialogue and activities at the UN and its Organisations in Vienna and the OSCE, as well as in the organisation of high-profile events and meetings. Alain Matton kickstarted his career as a trainee at the European Commission after undertaking studies in Law at the University of Gent. His career with EU institutions and EEAS have brought him to reside in Belgium, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Myanmar, and finally now in Vienna, Austria, for over 2 years. 

Inès Tourdot is doing a traineeship at the EU Delegation to the International Organisations in Vienna during her Erasmus year at the University of Vienna. She graduated in Public and German law in 2021, and is supplementing her education with a double Bachelor's degree in Political Science. Inès previously completed a traineeship in 2021 at the Interior Ministry of France where she organised the French elections, wrote proposals, reports, and followed the cabinet section meetings.

Katharina Fürnkranz is currently a trainee at the Communication Section of the EU Delegation to the International Organisations in Vienna while completing her master’s degree in Advanced International Studies at the Diplomatic Academy Vienna. Prior to the traineeship, Katharina completed an internship at the Austrian Federal Chancellery and has worked as a project coordinator for EU-funded projects at the Austrian Integration Fund. She holds a BA degree in European Studies and Portuguese from the University of Leeds.
