Having played together for ten years in various artistic projects and musical environments, Sára and Petra formed their extraordinary world-music duo in 2019. Their repertoire consists of Hungarian, Balcanic, and Caucasian ethno-jazz arrangements as well as Early music and folk-inspired original compositions. Sára is both a jazz vocalist and a folk musician, so the liberty and joy of improvisation is just as much present in her singing as the devotion to severe authenticity. Having studied in Georgia she also plays the Caucasian lute, the choghur. Petra’s unique violin playing is rhythm, melody and harmony in one. The characteristic musical world based on her compositional creativity and percussive grooves serve as a safe ground for spontaneous ideas. Though the duo’s organic playing often feels like one instrument, their rich-sounding music can easily make you think that there are more than two people on stage. Their concert in December is sure to be a colorful variety of different sounds, feelings, and atmospheres, creating an out-of-this-world musical experience with lots of improvisation and personal storytelling.
