With 189 member countries, staff from more than 170 countries, and offices in over 130 locations, the World Bank Group (WBG) is a unique partnership: five institutions working for sustainable solutions to reduce poverty and build shared prosperity in developing countries.

The World Bank Group (WBG) is one of the world’s largest sources of funding and knowledge for developing countries. WBG staff work with governments, civil society groups, the private sector and others, in all areas of international development, from policy and strategic advice to the identification, preparation, appraisal and supervision of development projects. Attend this event to learn more. Highly motivated graduate students and alumni from various fields of study relevant to international development/finance are strongly encouraged to attend.

WBG staff are recruited from around the world, with preference to nationals of WBG member countries and countries of operations. WBG welcomes all qualified individuals, from diverse professional, academic and cultural backgrounds to apply.


Speakers:

Vilma Aguilar is the current Program Manager for the World Bank Group’s Young Professionals Program (WBG YPP), now recruiting on behalf of the World Bank, IFC and MIGA. She is a Human Resources Management professional with over 20 years of experience in international development organizations.

Senjuty Bhowmik is a short-term consultant and former intern working in the World Bank's Energy unit based in Vienna. She is also currently pursuing a PhD at the Central European University from the Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy, where her research focuses on the feasibility of solar energy targets in India.

Aleksandra Chrustowska is a Human Resources specialist with the International Finance Corporation, a private sector arm of the World Bank Group. Based in the regional hub in Vienna, she supports IFC staff across Europe. Aleksandra is a CIPD-certified HR professional with over 10 years of experience in various international organizations.

Dina Chaikovska is a Human Resources professional with over 20 years of experience in the client services team of the International Finance Corporation (IFC). She supports staff and managers across Europe on full employment cycle including recruitment and staff mobility.

Mariya Hake is a Regional Economist for Europe at the IFC in Vienna. She focuses on monitoring and analyzing issues related to competitiveness, macroeconomic developments, digitalization and climate change in Central and Eastern European, Western Balkans and South Caucasus. She holds an MA in Economics from the University of Vienna and a PhD in Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. She is also an external lecturer at the Vienna School of International Studies.    

Marietou Toure Diack is the Recruitment Analyst for the World Bank Group’s Young Professionals Program (WBG YPP), recruiting on behalf of the World Bank and MIGA. She is a Human Resources Management professional with over 20 years of experience in international development organizations.

Johannes Widmann is the Senior Operations Officer for the Western Balkans based in Vienna. He has 20 years of experience supporting World Bank operations in Africa, South and East Asia, Latin America and Europe.


The roles / career paths presented during this event will include opportunities for students in all degree levels, as well as alumni.
