Are you curious about careers in international organizations? International organizations address issues in many areas -- from the environment to governance to international development to climate to humanitarian aid -- and much more. There are many types of roles and many possible paths. Join our panel discussion and learn more from practitioners, including alumni.

During this event, you will learn about:

  • A range of career paths and insights into the field
  • The experiences of practitioners, including alumni, in building a career in international organizations
  • Rewards and challenges of this career area 

Speaker(s):

Ann-Kathrin Beck (SPP '17) is based in Rome, Italy, and is the Advisor to the Vice-President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), whom she supports in giving strategic direction to the institution, and promoting corporate approaches and solutions. She is the focal point for quality assurance and innovation. Prior to this, she was the Deputy Head of Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Mexico and worked on development projects, empowering women in the informal sector in India and supporting sustainable agriculture value chains in Ghana. Ann-Kathrin holds a Master in Public Policy from the Central European University in Budapest and the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz.

Tamara Stupalova (SPP ’17) currently works as an Associate Information Manager with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, in El Salvador. From February 2019 – January 2022, she held the same role with UNHCR in Lebanon. She has previously worked with organizations including the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED) and People in Need. Tamara holds a Master of Public Administration from CEU and an undergraduate degree from the University of St. Andrews.

Jan Vykoukal (ECBS '18) left the Czech Republic and became an expatriate over ten years ago. Since then, he has worked in HR, learning and development, and EdTech at the European Union and the United Nations. Jan lives in New York and works as a Staff Development Officer at the United Nations Secretariat.

This event will be held on campus in Vienna. Please register in advance. You will have an opportunity to indicate if you are not able to attend in person so that we can send you details for joining remotely.
