Nadia Manzoni is a first year PhD student in the Department of Public Policy at the Doctoral School of Political Science, Public Policy and International  relations at CEU. She joined CEU after nearly 10 years of working on education policies for the European Commission and she in order to research European policy making in the area of higher education on the case of European University Alliances.  The question that motivates her research is why an unprecedented number of universities went along with the policy proposals and the vision behind the European Universities Initiative and whether the policy co-creation process is the secret ingredient that led to the large take up of the initiative among such a varied group of stakeholders with different interests and needs. In this presentation, Manzoni will throw light on this initiative from an academic perspective, outline the current state of play of research on the topic and sketch out the research plan for the next few years of her PhD.
