This year the Turan Road Music ensemble (drums and reeds) will be accompanied by two Central Asian guest musicians (singing/komuz, throat-singing/dombra) at the CEU. The concert will be introduced by a lecture, which describes the transnational frames of epic music in inner Asia.
Program:
6:00-6:30 PM: In the presentation Transnational Shift by Telling Epics in Inner Asia, István Sántha talks about the research history of the Turan Road Music Sound project. How the project was created how it developed, and what kind of transnationalist shift is enabled by the knowledge (and research) of tribal epics in the Inner Asian region.
6:30-8:00 PM: Kenzhebek Aldajaar and Baykochkar Bakhxi Ahmedov accompanied with the Turan Road Music (concert)
Kenzhebek Aldajaar is a unique figure in Kyrgyz komuz (cobza) art. He composes songs and thinks in epic terms. He rewrote the entire Kyrgyz mythology. At the same time, he is also a very talented and innovative musician. His program also includes setting contemporary Kyrgyz poetry to music. He can create psychedelic magic like early seventies Pink Floyd in one person.

Baykochkor Bakhxi Ahmedov comes from southern Uzbekistan, from Kashka-Dariya region close to the Afghan border, a singer-musician from the Kongrat tribe knows and plays many epics. Alpamysh, a famous epic of the Kongrats tells the story of the hero, Alpamysh of the Kongrat tribe. Baykochkar has a fantastic voice, and sings in a distinctive throaty style, accompanied by very fine instrumental playing.

The contribution of the Turan Road Music ensemble: Balázs Pándi and Béla Ágoston is in making an experimental music sound and being involved in the Central Asian epic music sphere with the help of the guest epic storytellers, and hopefully, they (all together) will create a new spiritual music during these joint trance sessions.

Kenzhebek Aldajaar: totálisan egyedülálló figura a kirgiz koboz-művészetben. Saját dalokat ír, eposzban gondolkodik. Tulajdonképpen a teljes kirgiz mitológiát újra írta. Eközben nagy tehetségű, innovatív zenész is. Programjának része a kortárs kirgiz költészet megzenésítése is. Egy személyben képes megkreálni a Pink Floyd pszichedelikus varázsát.

Baykochkor Bakhxi Ahmedov Dél-Özbegisztánból érkezik, Kaska-Darjából az afgán határról, kongrát törzsbeli énekes-zenész, számos eposzt ismer és játszik. A kongrátok messziföldön híres eposza az Alpamis, mely egy Kongrat törzsbeli hős, Alpamysh cselekedeteit meséli fel. Baykochkarnak fantasztikus hangja van, sajátos torokének stílusban énekel, melyet nagyon finom hangszereres játékkal kíséri.

A koncerthez a Turan Road Music társaság: Pándi Balázs és Ágoston Béla járul hozzá egy kísérleti zenei hangzással, eljátszanak egy közös ősi közép-ázsiai epikus zenekultúra lehetőségével a vendég eposzmesélők segítségével, útmutatásaik, tanításaik alapján megteremtett transz-szekvenciákban való közös spirituális zenélések során.
