UNEP Employer Presentation

Employer Event
UNEP
Monday, May 27, 2024, 12:45 pm – 1:30 pm

On the 2nd of March 2022, the resolution adopted by the United Nations Environment Assembly demonstrated the importance providing due regard for the principle of equitable geographical distribution, in accordance with paragraph 3 of Article 101 of the Charter of the United Nations.

UNEP is actively working to increase the representation of staff from less represented regional groups such as Africa Group, Asia Pacific Group, Eastern Europe Group, Latin America and Caribbean Group. In support of the implementation of this resolution, the organization has launched a new talent acquisition initiative known as the Young Talent Pipeline. This program offers 10-12 positions at the UNEP headquarters in Nairobi for young professionals aged between 28 and 33 years old, with over 2 years of relevant professional experience and completed higher education. Additionally, fluent English proficiency is required, while knowledge of one of the UN languages (French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian or Chinese) would be considered an asset.

Currently, the UNEP HR team is organizing Zoom webinars for students and alumni from European universities with a large number of international students from underrepresented regions about the Young Talent Pipeline initiative, UNEP's working modalities, and inviting UNEP staff members to share their experiences working at the organization. The webinar includes a 30-minute presentation followed by 15 minutes for questions and answers.

Speakers:

Soraya Soemadiredja, Talent Acquisition Officer (ENVSCI '16)
