Fei Xu is Professor at the Department of Psychology and Director of the Berkeley Early Learning Lab at UC Berkeley.

Her research focuses on cognitive and language development, including infant cognition, statistical inference across domains, physical and psychological reasoning, word learning, number representations, social cognition, language and thought, concept acquisition, psychology and philosophy.
