Panelists
Anna Ackermann (ENVS '14) is a professional in the field of energy and environment with experience in NGO, energy design and research sectors in Eastern and Central Europe. Her main areas of expertise include energy efficiency in buildings, renewable energy, climate change and policy advocacy. Between 2016 and 2018 she managed the expert "Energy Policy Reform" group of Ukraine's largest civil society platform Reanimation Package of Reforms. She is one of the co-founding members of Ukraine's key environmental NGO Centre for Environmental Initiatives "Ecoaction". She holds two M.Sc degrees: in Power Engineering and in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management (MESPOM) from CEU and partner Erasmus+ universities.
Ifra Asad (SPP '19) works in the Asia team at Minority Rights Group in Budapest. She is also a council member of Women Living Under Muslim Laws, a feminist transnational solidarity network. In the past, Ifra has worked in an INGO for children's education in Pakistan. In addition to holding an MPA from CEU, she has an MA in comparative literature from SOAS, University of London.
Cameron Aitken (GENS '17) is a professional in the Canadian NGO sector, working on advocacy surrounding LGBT education and sports programming for families living with Autism. He has over 6 years of experience in the sector with a focus on program administration, grant writing, and human resources. He is also a board member with the Lambda Scholarship Foundation. When not working, Cameron can be found gardening, communing with nature, and singing in local choirs. Cameron holds a Master of Arts in Gender Studies from CEU and more recently, a Management Certificate in HR from Carleton University.
