Alumni Relations

The Alumni Relations team serves the university’s more than 16,000 graduates living and making history around the world. Our mission: to engage alumni in a lifelong, mutually-beneficial relationship with the university and its ever-growing global alumni network.

The Campus Services Group is responsible for activities that serve the Campus’ operation.

Career Services Office

CEU Careers plays a leading role in institutional efforts to ensure that the university's graduates are prepared to transform their CEU experience into meaningful professional engagement. CEU Careers partners with the diverse members of CEU’s student and alumni communities, offering guidance, support, and information as they develop and pursue personal visions for impact and success all over the world.

CEU Press

CEU Press was established in 1993. Reflecting the intellectual strengths and values of its parent institution, CEU Press publishes books on the political philosophy and practices of open society, history, legal studies, nationalism, human rights, conflict resolution, open media, gender studies, Jewish studies, economics, medieval studies, literature, and international relations.

CEU PU Works Council (Betriebsrat)

The Works Council represents all employees with a CEU PU employment contract. The seven regular and seven replacement members of the CEU PU Works Council have been elected in April 2021 for a five-year term. We meet regularly with the employer to discuss issues of common concern. The Works Council has representatives in several CEU committees and forums. 

CEU Ukrainians Association

CEU Ukrainians Association – the community of active Ukrainian CEU students, PhD Candidates, and alumni. Their activities are centered around three main goals: 1) increasing the awareness of the international audience about the comprehensive world of Ukrainian culture in its national and intercultural dimensions; 2) facilitating the communication of results of interdisciplinary research on Ukraine-related issues; 3) providing the updates about recent life experiences of Ukrainian communities at home and abroad concerning multiple challenges arising before the war-torn society and the country in the course of its European integration.

Civic Engagement, Arts and Culture Unit

The Civic Engagement, Arts and Culture unit seeks to propose and implement projects inspired by the University's commitment to an open society, which will bring tangible benefits to individuals and groups outside the University. The office is offering cultural programs, knowledge sharing popular science lectures and non-degree educational programs. It also encourages different forms of partnerships with civil society organizations. 

Culture Hub

The Culture Hub stimulates research and curricula development in the field of arts and culture and cultural policy, initiates culture-related debate within the university, and provides the CEU community with innovative arts events aimed at bringing together students from all disciplines, as well as academic staff and the Budapest public.

Development Office

The Development Office is responsible for securing philanthropic support for the University. This support comes from individuals, foundations and corporations. We work with current and potential donors to identify their interests in the CEU community and demonstrate the impact made by their contributions.

Equality Unit

Unit in charge of the promotion of equal opportunities and gender equality in CEU's operations.

Student Engagement Office

The Student Engagement Office supports civic commitment activities at CEU.

Student Recruitment (Enrollment Management)

Central European University’s Student Recruitment Office is dedicated to finding the best candidates for our master’s and doctoral programs. Our vision is to discover ambitious and talented students who are passionate about contributing to the development of a dynamic, sustainable open society, about making a difference and who are looking for a unique academic experience. Our office is engaged in an extensive outreach program internationally and we also arrange special events and campus tours for potential candidates. The Student Recruitment team is available to answer questions and provide information regarding our master’s and doctoral programs as well as CEU's admissions procedure to help candidates make the best decision about their education.

Student Services Office

The Student Services Office comprises all relevant service units that provide guidance to students throughout the student lifecycle, from the moment they apply until graduation. Next to assistance with administrative or academic issues and career advising, we also offer a variety of social activities, as well as medical and psychological counselling.

The Human RightS Initiative

The Human RightS Initiative (HRSI) is an awareness raising and capacity building organization based at Central European University (CEU). It was founded in 1999 by the students of the CEU Legal Studies Human Rights Program.

The Office for Austrian Affairs

The Office for Austrian Affairs is responsible for increasing the perception of CEU as a highly recognized representative of excellent higher education and research in Austria. The Director liaises personally with Austrian authorities/governmental representatives and supports academic networking wherever requested. The office is also responsible for maintaining existing and developing new partnerships in Austria from a political and governmental perspective.

The Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equality

The Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equality is in charge of providing advice and guidance to CEU's Vienna-based employee and student body on any matters related to equal opportunities and non-discrimination. It is also a center of expertise that delivers best practice recommendations to CEU's leadership to make sure that equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded in all decision-making processes.

Our mission is to ensure that our University is a work and study place in which every community member can thrive and reach their full potential regardless of their gender, disability status, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristics.

The Office of the President and Rector

The President and Rector is the overall academic and administrative head of the university.

The Office of the Pro-Rector for External Relations

The Pro-Rector for External Relations oversees the Office for Austrian Affairs, Development Office, Communications Office, Enrollment Management, Career Services and Alumni Relations Office, the OSUN Secretariat and the Executive Education Hub.

The Office of the Pro-Rector for Social Sciences and Humanities

The Office of the Pro-Rector for Social Sciences and Humanities works with the Provost in the exercise of responsibilities in these academic areas with regard to both academic departments and research centers and oversees their day-to-day operations.

The Office of the Provost and Pro-Rector

The Provost and Pro-Rector is the chief academic officer of the University. The Provost is responsible, under the direction of the President and Rector, for strategic development planning, developing educational and research objectives and plans of the University, and coordinating their implementation.
